About the Video Golfers for Underdogs Video Golfers for Underdogs (VGforU) is a registered non-profit organization founded by video golf players in 2003. VGforU was setup because of the desire of many players in an ever growing worldwide community of video golfers to contribute as a whole to the betterment of life and the world around them. It is because of this desire that we decided to create VGforU to provide a way for players to help better the world through the enjoyment of a game they love. All monies raised will be presented to the charities on behalf of all of the players- there are no paid staff members and expenses are kept at an absolute minimum (under 15%). Contributions to this organization through any of its sponsored endeavors are tax deductible. This organization helps video golfers, as a community, to "do our part". Video Golfers for Underdogs and a group of over 125 players completed their involvement in the first charity fund raising event in June of 2004. That event was The Players Charity Championship (PCC) which raised an amazing $40,892 for Make-a-Wish. The Golden Tee tournament was very enjoyable, but the presentation of the check was the highlight of the weekend for the players and for us. With that money, we directly sponsored, as a group, eight children's wishes! The event was also covered in a piece on CBS' The Morning Edition that same month. |
