Laura is a fighter, a kind soul, a gentle smile, a sister, a daughter, a girlfriend, a friend.  She has touched so many lives across the country; from her home in VA to her adapted family in Champaign.  Laura has an infectious smile and a gleaming personality that matches her quirky sense of humor that has endeared her to so many

Laura now finds herself in the battle of a lifetime, a battle of the obvious good and a terrible evil.  She was recently diagnosed with a semi-rare form of Leukemia and is currently undergoing extensive treatment for the disease.  From the day of her diagnosis she has been strong, fighting her fight and being a rock of strength for many around her.  Having the heart and strength to not only fight the disease but also to support those around her: How many have the strength??  So day in and day out she fights, she battles; it’s what she does: from on the field to the classroom to her own body it’s all she has ever done and it’s what has made her who she is.

As much as we want to jump in and help the physical fight and take some of it on ourselves, it’s a battle Laura wages internally every day, but our aid comes in form of support.  So how can we help?   Living in an era where the medical world and society is fueled by money this fund was set up to help Laura and her family run the race.  All money raised through this site will go directly to Laura and her family so that they can have as many resources at their disposal as possible.   PLEASE give what you can, from a few dollars to a paycheck everything counts, helps and is greatly appreciated.
